Minnesota State Convention!

To sum up the whole day: I had a BLAST!!!  So, I woke up at about 5:45, loaded all the bunnies up and was on the road by 6:30.  Got there around 7, met Emily and her dad and then we set up "camp".  And then we sat, sat, sat, and sat some more, and a little more.  It was a lloonngg morning.  But it was fun to walk around and see all the different kinds of rabbits.  My mom came with me this time (her first rabbit show) and she really wanted to see an Angora rabbit (I had shown her all these pictures of them:)).  We did find a couple, there weren't very many.  The lady that had them was kind enough to let us pet one and they were so soft!!!  I was kinda surprised! :)  Anyways, back the to the show. :)  Finally, at about 1:30-1:45 ish Dwarf Hotot's were called over to Susie Dapper's table.  We waited while open was getting judged.  Then it was youth!!  Onyx was in senior bucks and he won 4th out of 7 bucks!  I was hoping for him to do a little better, but he did pretty good.  Then it was senior does.... only Ruby and Emily's doe Zahara were in the senior doe class.  Ruby got first and Zahara got 2nd.  Then Junior bucks.  Bandit won 1st!!!  I was kinda surprised!!  And then when BOB was being judged, he won that too!!!  I am so proud of him!!  I am excited to show him some more and when he is old enough, to breed him and see how his babies turn out!!

Bandit with his 1st place ribbon and BOB trophy!!!  So proud of him!!

That is a pretty horrible picture of Ruby.  She is being a "pancake".  I just had to get a picture of her with her ribbon though. :)

And for other news.... I am considering keeping one of Ruby's babies.  Jasper is about 10 weeks old and is one of the most GORGEOUS rabbit I have ever seen.  He has a block of a head.  Has amazing width.  Good topline.... perfect!! :) lol  I brought him to the show to see what other breeders thought of him and they all LOVED him.  The only reason I would maybe not keep him is because I would not have room.  I have to sell Onyx before I can for sure keep him.  If I can't, then Emily will get him.

He looks kinda long in the pic... trust he, he is not!!

Well, this is the end of my big post!  I need to head off to bed now.

Update... much needed update!! :)

Wow.... it has been like a month since I last posted!!!  Summer just gets SOOOO busy for us.  I hope to do post more post this fall/winter. :)

There hasn't really been any major changes in the rabbitry lately.  I am starting to condition the buns (maybe a little early:)) for the show this September.  I am really excited!!  It will be the MN convention!  This will be my second show.  Last show I brought only one bun(Onyx), this show I am hopeing to bring at least 3.... Ruby, Onyx and Bandit.  Ruby has had 2 litters, but still seems to be just gorgeous.  I will take some pictures of her after I wean her litter that she has right now... in about a week.  Bandit, my first homegrown, is just a gorgeous (or should I say, handsome:)) buck!!  I am really excites to see what the judges think of him.

Bandit
He isn't very photogenic though. :) lol

Bandit again. :)
And, I am also trying to sell Bella.  So I bought a new brood doe to replace her!!  Presenting..... Hoppin' Hotot's Lily!!

Lily is a very nice doe.  I was hopeing to show her, but found a little black spot on her ear. :(  But, I am excited to breed her in a couple months and see how her babies turn out!! :)

And Bella's babies are a little over 5 weeks old and are cuter than ever!!!  I am pretty sure it is 2 bucks, 1 doe.

Sorry, the lighting wasn't very good in that picture. :)
The other buck - Petey

A buck - Petey
The other buck - Denny

And the doe.. Evelynn

And Ruby's babies are just ADORABLE!!!  I can't get over how cute they are!!  They are just over 4 weeks.  I am still figuring out there gender.

Aren't they just cuties?!?!?!

That is all for now!!  I will try to do some more posts soon.
